Market Research Director

We are seeking a seasoned market researcher with senior level experience in pharmaceutical market research for a full-time Pharmaceutical Market Research Director position in Horsham, Pennsylvania office.

The Pharmaceutical Market Research Directors are responsible for supervising project execution, managing accounts, and selling AlphaDetail projects. Job duties include:

  • Supervise AlphaDetail market research and KOL Identification studies (overall responsibility for project quality and client management)
  • Manage pharmaceutical client relationships and accounts
  • Develop pharmaceutical marketing leads
  • Present AlphaDetail capabilities to prospective clients
  • Write proposals and close project sales

Entry Level Online Survey QA Engineer

We are seeking bright, motivated candidates for a full-time QA Engineer position in our San Mateo, California location.

The QA Engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of quality assurance standards, processes, and controls. Developing test plans for complex applications throughout the full lifecycle of the market research study.

Job duties will also include:

  • Design and develop QA test plans and test cases for website functionality and market research studies on multiple platforms.
  • Execute all test plans and test cases, isolating and reporting all problems encountered.
  • Thoroughly test market research projects on both flash and html based technologies.
  • Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural/logical, regression, and system testing.
  • Contribute to the evolution of quality assurance processes and documentation.
  • Work closely with engineering, the release team, and the business team defining the system and project execution requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Database Analyst

We are seeking bright, motivated candidates for a full-time Database Analyst position in our San Mateo, California location.

The Database Analyst will be responsible for assisting the professional services and engineering teams in project execution. The position’s responsibilities include data analysis and manipulation; importing and exporting data from a wide variety of sources; project management; and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data. The applicant must have a solid understanding of relational database design and complex SQL queries.

The position's duties and responsibilities include:

Data Analysis

  • Design and produce complex data queries and reports.
  • Develop and prepare highly segmented emailing lists and analytic reports, according to time-sensitive production calendar.

Data Quality Enhancement

  • Manage and execute regular data updates.
  • Design and perform ongoing data improvement and cleanup procedures.

Project management and release

Education/Experience

Java Developer

We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic candidate for a position as a Java Developer in our San Mateo headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for growth and career development. You will be exposed to all areas and stages of technical design and execution - from initial data schema design to the front end UI, through the earliest specifications discussions to final Production release.

Responsibilities

  • Build new functionality and components within the existing AlphaDetail java core code/framework.
  • Enhance and refine the core code/framework itself.
  • Design and develop new internal tools for Project Execution, Analysis, Reporting, and Testing.
  • Be an integral part of the small development team, able to work collaboratively or completely independently as needed.
  • Work very closely with all areas of the company, including Technical Operations, Professional Services and Accounting.
  • Write clear, comprehensible documentation for engineering as well as user guides for non-engineering internal users.

Requirements

  • 2 years or more Software Development experience. Exceptional recent college graduates also considered.
  • Thorough understanding of web technology - HTTP, web services, SaaS, etc
  • Solid grasp of J2EE/J2SE technologies; object-oriented design & implementation; n-tier architectures.
  • Experience with common open-source frameworks and tools: JUNIT, ANT, etc.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Exceptional people skills are just as crucial as technical skills for this position.
  • General front-end skills: JSP, HTML, CSS, DOM reference using JavaScript, JS frameworks like JQuery, ExtJS, YUI, etc.
  • Familiarity with application server technology including configuration management. Specific experience with Apache webserver and Tomcat application server a plus.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering or the equivalent.

Desirable Skills

  • Working knowledge of Struts, Hibernate, Spring, JSTL, Tiles, etc; Eclipse IDE; Model-View-Controller paradigm.
  • Database familiarity - basic queries; design philosophies and approaches; MS-SQL Server experience a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with XML and JSON data format.
  • Experience with internationalization or localization of Web sites.
  • Familiarity with VB/ASP a plus, but not required.
  • Sense of visual design/UI skills.

Chief Methodologist

This position will be a key driver in the Analytics team and will develop cutting-edge analytical methodologies. Job duties will include:

  • Analytical Execution - Perform advanced statistical analysis on projects requiring such analysis in a timely, accurate fashion
  • Analytical Standards - Review AlphaDetail practices and recommends company-wide analytical and methodological standards
  • Project enhancement - Creatively apply advanced analytical and methodological knowledge to projects to better differentiate AlphaDetail from its competitors
  • Partnership - Educate AlphaDetail Directors regarding opportunities for more powerful business solutions available through advanced analytics
  • Training - Train junior AlphaDetail staff on basics through advanced analytics and methodology
  • Client support - Engage the most methodologically sophisticated clients effectively in sales and project design discussions
  • New product development - Help design proprietary "brand-able" AlphaDetail research techniques
  • Advancing capabilities - Guide the establishment and development of research results database that can be used as the foundation for new services or ad hoc to address client issues (e. g. norms)
  • Strategic support - Advise AlphaDetail executives on what is required to enhance the company’s methodological capabilities longer term / and is a member of the Professional Services Leadership Team
  • Supports corporate marketing - Represent and enhance AlphaDetail’s company image in the advanced analytics community

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8-10 years experience in a leadership role creating analytically and methodologically advanced business solutions for marketing and marketing research clients, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics (or similar field) with extensive advanced academic training in Statistics (preferably a PhD in marketing research-oriented Statistics)
  • Excellent communication skills and has the ability to communicate advanced analysis concepts to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including junior and senior AlphaDetail professional services staff; marketing research and marketing clients at all levels of research knowledge and experience; and members of the advanced market research methodology community
  • Able to inspire and motivate AlphaDetail staff and clients to embrace analytically and methodologically advanced business solutions
  • History of success in a fast-moving, efficient ultra client-responsive environment
  • Outstanding project management skills
